Every month, I post a nugget from one my coaching sessions.

I hope this one serves you today.

"This week, I found out how much I like spending time alone!" commented a guest at Starcroft Farm Cabins writing retreats.

He had booked a five-day getaway from his busy medical job and social life with some trepidation about the extended solitary hours -- and then discovered that they were the gift the needed most.

This hit home with me, as a writer with a strong extrovert side. Many of us fear removing ourselves from the social buzz long enough to explore the landscape our ideas. So when we finally do, it comes as a surprise that not only do we revel in our own company, but it provides the quiet and freedom to hear the call of inspiration and follow its guidance.

Here's the bonus: Once you learn to cherish time on your own, you also show up with greater ease for others, because interaction becomes a choice, rather than a 24/7 requirement. So interaction becomes richer, easier and more generous -- and part of the rich broth that supports your solo writing work.

If you're looking for a way to reconcile your intro-extroverted personae, and pursue an individual calling with warm communal support, check out my 10-week writer development program, Write Now, starting June 30.

And if you could you use some support getting your ideas out of your head, onto the page and into the world, reach out to request a 20 minute free discovery call. I can help.
