The writer's ecosystem:
The building blocks of a writer's life

Writing is a calling, and if you reading this, chances are, you hear that call and want to answer it.
So why can't you plunk yourself down, get started and keep going until you come to "The End"?
I tried that for years. Sometimes, I even made progress. But inevitably, I would encounter friction, lose momentum, and fall back into a slump.

Was this because I lacked ideas or talent? No!
Rather, the problem was that I was writing in a vacuum, when sustainable writing requires an ecosystem.
Specifically, it requires:
-
A clear, vivid, magnetic goal.
-
A writing habit – just ten minute a day, to start.
-
A community of mentors, champions and fellow travellers for support, guidance and accountability.

I help writers develop a sense of mission, groove their writing habit and build a rich community through:
-
1-1 coaching
-
Structured week-long and three-month programs
-
Workshops
Along the way, we also explore key craft tools, build friendships and have fun.

Building an ecosystem sounds like a lot of work. Why bother?
Quite simply, because if you are called to write, you must write. Writing makes everything else better -- and without it, anything else is second best.

I want you to experience the joy of telling the story only you can tell -- the kind of story that distills your most deeply held beliefs and values and takes you, the writer, on an adventure as ground breaking and thrilling as the one your characters experience.
If you love food, there's no substitute for creating and savouring your own versions of favourite recipes. If you love words, you need to fit them together as only you can. How else can you find out what happens next?

Thank you so much for your careful listening and interpretation... Your intervention was very helpful and important.
